‘Waar’ being touted as The Unstoppable Movie after achieving a gigantic milestone and creating history in Pakistani cinema
As soon as the highly anticipated ‘Waar’ hit the box office, people thronged to the cinemas to experience one of the best quality of Pakistani movies made in recent years. Raising the bar for Pakistani cinema, ‘Waar’ brought the superb cinematography and action-packed scenes to the big screen with a story that mesmerized the audience with its depiction of true events. Hence, it came as no surprise when the movie broke all Pakistani box office records by achieving PKR 96, 527, 843 by the end of the long Eid-Ul-Azha week of 9 days.
Released under the banner of Mind Works Media with a massive production budget of nearly US$ 2 million, ‘Waar’ is Pakistan’s biggest budget movie to date. Now, by doing a record-breaking business in a short span of a week, the movie has set another gigantic milestone in the history of Pakistani cinema by becoming the highest grossing movie of all times. ‘Waar’ has now become the truly Unstoppable Movie that Pakistan has experienced lately.
Distributed by ARY Films & Mandviwalla Entertainment, ‘Waar’ is written and produced by Dr. Hassan Waqas Rana while the young and very talented Bilal Lashari has directed the movie. The star cast of ‘Waar’ includes a mix of industry veterans and newcomers: Superstar Shaan plays the lead role in the movie that becomes the last hope for Pakistan’s security agencies to battle against the vicious opponent Shamoon Abbasi. Hamza Ali Abbasi, Aisha Khan, Ali Azmat, Misha Shafi, Kamran Lashari and Nadeem Abbas Rana make the rest of the cast of the movie.
