Talking about the campaign, Mr. Amer Pasha Country Manager Visa Pakistan & Afghanistan said, “We are very excited to launch our Visa Debit promotion in Pakistan where we aim to provide consumers with more reasons to use their debit cards especially when spending on everyday things such as fuel, groceries, restaurants, etc.  Visa is continuously looking at new and innovative ways to enhance our customer experiences and this promotion will reward customers for using their Visa debit cards which are issued through our 19 bank partners throughout Pakistan. It is our hope that all Visa cardholders take advantage of it and don’t miss out on their chance to win with Visa when doing something as ordinary as their weekly grocery shop,” he added.

Visa Debit cards are becoming increasingly popular in Pakistan, with more banks introducing debit facilities to their product offering. In Q1 2011, Visa reported a growth of more then 25% in debit payment transactions across Pakistan, attributed to the increasing availability of Visa debit cards in the country.

There has been improved awareness among consumers on the benefits of using Visa debit cards as more than just an ATM card. Visa debit cards are more convenient than carrying cash or cheques, and as a ‘buy-now, pay-now‘ tool where transactions are automatically deducted from the cardholders account, Visa debit cards enable you to easily track your spending thereby giving you greater control over your expenses.. People are paying closer attention to their spending habits, and Visa debit cards offer a convenient way for people to monitor their expenses and ensure that they only spend what they have.

Over the years, Visa has worked together with leading financial institutions to drive awareness and encourage use of Visa debit cards in the region, announcing a number of new partnership agreements in 2010. Visa works with banks to develop their Visa debit portfolios and enhance customer experiences by increasing usage capabilities and offering increased flexibility, convenience and security for their customers.
